Hancock: I get asked for selfies on the Tube
MATT Hancock has claimed the public are “generally fantastic” with him and some even ask him for selfies.
The MP has faced a huge backlash, both online and from his fellow I’m A Celebrity campmates.
But the former Health Secretary insisted he often has positive encounters with the public.
Asked recently if it is a pleasant experience when he travels around, he said: “It’s great, actually. The public are generally fantastic.
“I was on the Tube recently and somebody asked for a selfie. She was actually surreptitiously taking a photo of me. Well, it wasn’t that surreptitious because it was really obvious.
“I caught her eye and said, ‘I hope you’re OK’. And she said, ‘Oh, can I have a selfie? I was too embarrassed to ask’.“
When Hancock first arrived in the camp, actor Sue Cleaver was heard saying “Oh, oh, oh.”
She is a Labour supporter and appeared to be stunned by seeing him on the show. In the Bush Telegraph she added: “I don’t know what to say.”
