PROFIT BOOKED IN
Newsagent chain WH Smith claimed it was in its “strongest ever position” as it swung from a £104million annual loss to a £61m profit and resumed dividend payouts to shareholders.
The books and stationery retailer has benefited from a bounceback in travel after the Covid crisis, as many of its stores are in airports and stations.
Profits at its high street stores – where bestsellers include Richard Osman’s Murder Club series – jumped by £14m.
