Covid patient is US fugitive, sheriff rules
A MAN arrested on a Covid ward in Glasgow is an American rape suspect who faked his own death, a court has ruled.
“Arthur Knight” claimed to be an Irish orphan who had never been to the US.
But Sheriff Norman McFadyen ruled he is the fugitive Nicholas Rossi.
Rossi, 35, is wanted in connection with attacks on three women in Utah.
He insists it is a case of mistaken identity. And he claims the hospital inked him with the same tattoos as the wanted man while he was in a coma with Covid in December.
Sheriff McFadyen said Rossi’s claims were “implausible and fanciful”.
Rossi was refused bail at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and will face a full extradition hearing in March.
