Fans hand it to Diego for Hand of God
DIEGO Maradona’s “Hand of God” goal has been named as the greatest World Cup moment of all time.
The Argentinian forward punched the ball into the net to help beat England in 1986. The ball from the game may fetch £3million at auction next week.
Surprisingly, it beat Bobby Moore lifting the trophy for England and Geoff Hurst’s hat-trick in the 1966 final in a survey of 2,000 fans by Sky.
The firm’s Poppy Dixon said: “Our study seems to have uncovered an appetite in British football fans for World Cup drama.”
