LESLIE WAS LEGENDARY

The term “lounge lizard” might have been invented to describe Leslie Phillips, the louche film star. His death aged 98 can scarcely be called tragically early, but his passing is still mourned. Lothario Leslie, with his trademark greeting (to women) of “Helloo-o-ooh!” was the last link to the glory days of British comedy.

His tash was more manicured than mine, but then it served a different purpose.
