Hendo to have blinder

- BY DANNY HALL

NICKY HENDERSON’S team is revving up nicely and a Cheltenham double for the Lambourn maestro is on the cards.

ON THE BLIND SIDE

carries top weight in the Paddy Power Games Handicap Hurdle (2.55) but has been cut to 144, a mark 1lb lower than when he beat Mrs Milner to take this race in 2020.

Hendo believes he is on top of the problem which caused the 10-year-old (below) to have a truncated 2021/22 season, and the stable stalwart usually runs well first time out.

The drying ground may be a concern for Henderson’s LUCCIA who had a serious injury issue after her exciting bumper win at Sandown on Imperial Cup day.

She won by 17 lengths then and still looks a tremendous prospect ahead of the mares’ bumper (4.05).

HAPPYGOLUCKY travels well in his races and as long as the specialist two-and-a-half milers don’t stretch him early on in the Paddy Power Gold Cup (2.20), I can see him outrunning his double-figure odds.

Despite being off for 581 days, he usually runs up to form first time and he has run some great races on the track. TODAY’S SELECTIONS Happygolucky (ew) 2.20 Cheltenham

On The Blind Side (ew) 2.55 Cheltenham Luccia
