John Lewis’s ad is praised by fosterers
A COUPLE who have fostered 152 children have praised the John Lewis Christmas advert for featuring a foster family.
Retired Mandy Bright, 62, and husband Joe, 67, from Liverpool, take kids and even parents into their home for stays ranging from a night to two years.
The advert shows a foster dad learning how to skateboard so he can bond with his foster daughter.
Mum-of-one Mandy said the campaign “gets people thinking” about signing up.
She added: “The ad isn’t focused on masses of presents, which is good – especially this year. It’s about something much more essential – showing you care by what you do.”
The Brights have been fostering for 22 years and have no plans to stop.
