Heartbroken mother warns: Young drivers are hazardous

THE mum of a teenager killed in a road crash is warning about the dangers of inexperienced young drivers.

Passenger Caitlin Huddleston, 18, died in a 2017 collision with a van.

Her friend, who had passed her test four months earlier and was driving the car, also died.

Devastated mum Sharron Huddleston said: “If only I had known the risks, I wouldn’t have let Caitlin get in the car.” Sharron, of Millom, Cumbria, revealed Caitlin had left the house 15 minutes before the accident. She said: “I had just fastened the buttons on the back of Caitlin’s blouse and she turned just before leaving and asked me, ‘Do I look alright, Mam?’. They were her last words to me.”
