Aston Villa have won their last three successive Premier League meetings with Brighton, while the Villans have lost just one of their seven matches against the Seagulls in the competitio­n (W4 D2), with that defeat coming at Villa Park in November 2020. Brighton have lost four of their eight Premier League matches under Roberto De Zerbi (W2 D2), while the Seagulls lost just two of their previous 15 top-flight games under predecesso­r Graham Potter. Villa have won three of their last four league games (L1), as many as in their previous 16 beforehand (D5 L8). In fact, the Villans have won successive top-flight matches for the first time since May. Brighton have scored a divisionhi­gh seven goals in the opening 15 minutes of games this season. Alexis Mac Allister’s opener was Brighton’s earliest ever goal in the Prem (49 seconds). The Argentina internatio­nal has scored five league goals in 14 games this season, as many as in 33 appearance­s last term.
