Liverpool have won 10 of their last 11 Premier League games against Southampton (L1), as many as they had in their previous 26 against them (W10 D8 L8).

This was Saints first Prem game under Nathan Jones. Including caretakers, none of their last 10 top-flight managers have won their first game (D4 L6). Paul Sturrock was the last to do so, in March 2004. Darwin Nunez has been involved in eight goals in his last 10 games for Liverpool in all competitions (7 goals, 1 assist), while only Mohamed Salah (14) has scored more for the Reds than the Uruguayan this term (9).

With his two assists in the first half, Liverpool’s Andy Robertson equalled Leighton Baines as the defender with the most assists in Premier League history (53). Roberto Firmino’s opener was his 18th headed goal in the Prem, the outright second most for Liverpool after Robbie Fowler (21).

All four of Che Adams’ Premier League goals for Southampton this season have come away from home – he’s the highest scoring player yet to score a home goal in the competition this term.

James Milner’s appearance for Liverpool was his 600th game in the Prem, just the fourth player to reach that milestone.
