PM’s Indian permit deal
RISHI Sunak has agreed to allow thousands of Indians to come and work in the UK as he attempts to revive talks on a trade deal.
Last night the Government announced a new UK-India Young Professionals Scheme.
Under the reciprocal deal, 3,000 degree-educated under-30s will be able to work in the UK for two years.
The PM will today meet Indian PM Narendra Modi at the G20 summit in Indonesia.
Mr Sunak says he won’t “sacrifice quality for speed” in the trade deal talks which have stalled recently in a disagreement about visas.
