Three quakes strike county
THREE earthquakes hit in just two days.
A tremor struck Penpol, Cornwall, on October 25.
Two further quakes, measuring magnitudes of 0.4 and 0.5, were logged the next day off Portreath.
The British Geological Survey has recorded 44 quakes since September.
The strongest hit 2.4 off the Shetland Islands.
Quakes below 2.5 are not usually felt by humans.
In May, a rare 3.8 tremor struck Shropshire, shaking office workers’ desks.
