Alan is laid up on the sofa in a surgical boot and struggling to fend for himself after an accident. But he’s quite enjoying himself.
Michelle (Joy McAvoy) is getting frustrated because she’s waiting on him hand and foot, but she’d rather he snack on fruit. He just wants a couple of cans of Kronenbourg and a chocolate muffin.
As she heads out to do the shopping, it’s down to Beth (Arabella Weir) and Eric (Alex Norton) to take care of him.
Seizing the opportunity to show off her medical prowess, Christine turns up for a gawp at Alan’s boot and to hand over a bag of items she’s found useful while suffering from her many ailments.
But things take a drastic downturn when Alan needs some help to go to the toilet.
And a recently single Colin is feeling chipper after a successful internet date and can’t wait to tell the neighbours all about it.
