1938: Willie Hall scored three goals in three-and-ahalf minutes for England, a record in a home international. Hall added two more in a 7-0 win over Northern Ireland.

2003: England beat France 24-7 in the semi-finals of the 2003 Rugby World Cup. 2005: England lost their first Test match since regaining the Ashes, to Pakistan by 22 runs. 2009: Mercedes-Benz returned to Formula One, buying part of Brawn GP.
