NOW MOISES IS THE TV STAR
MOISES CAICEDO watched the 2014 World Cup in Brazil on a TV set up in the street in his home city of Santa Domingo in Ecuador.
The spectacle inspired a 12-year-old boy to want to become a professional footballer and this year it will be Caicedo that his mates will be watching in Qatar.
The 21-year-old Brighton midfielder (left), signed for £5million from Independiente del Valle, is already catching the eye of heavyweight clubs.
His £80million valuation could soar further at the World Cup if he impresses against hosts Qatar in Sunday’s opener before facing Holland and Senegal.
He said: “Back in 2014 I watched the games with friends. We set up a screen out in the street. I knew then I had to become a professional footballer.
“Now my friends will be out there for this World Cup, for sure.”
