Show respect to Wales...they will be very tough opponents

-

WITH the quality in the squad, England fans would expect their team to top Group B.

But with Wales in there, nothing can be taken for granted.

Rob Page has maintained an incredible spirit within his squad that has given them the belief that anything is possible.

England faced them in

2016 and they were extremely tough in what was almost like a Premier League game.

People are far too quick to write off Gareth Bale (above with Wayne Hennessey) but he has shown time and again that he is a magnificent leader and still does retain that magic. Kieffer Moore has grown so superbly as a frontman, with his goals in the Premier League testament to his quality and his cutting edge at Bournemouth.

You only have to look at his goals against Tottenham and Everton to see that he provides a fantastic outlet and defenders throughout the group will pay the price if they underestimate him.

Brennan Johnson (left with Harry Wilson, Chris Mepham and Neco Williams) is also coming into the tournament on the back of a fine first half of the season with Nottingham Forest.

So often at these big tournaments, teams are taken for granted because they don’t have that many of the big names that the leading nations can call on.

But Wales are a band of brothers.

They were only narrowly beaten by Belgium, Holland and Poland – countries with real class in their teams – in the Nations League.

I expect to see them represent the shirt with pride. Wales have to be respected.
