I WANT A PAIR OF GOLDEN BOOTS SAYS HARRY
ENGLAND LAND IN QATAR AND THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING...
FROM JOHN CROSS in Doha HARRY KANE is targeting another Golden Boot because that means England will have a good World Cup.
Skipper Kane was top scorer at the last tournament and aims to be so again, even if he insists team success is his priority.
“It’s not the main thing I’m going for, but I know if I do end up with the Golden Boot, it will be good for the team, a good bonus,” he told the Lions’ Den Show.
“I’m excited, a World Cup is a special occasion. For most professionals it’s the biggest tournament you can play in and I
have been lucky enough to do one and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.”
Kane believes the support of travelling England fans and those back home will be crucial to the success of Gareth Southgate’s men (above, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish disembark after the team’s plane arrives in Qatar’s capital Doha).
He added: “It’s going to be massive. I remember when we were out in Russia in our own little bubble.
“We saw all the videos from back home going crazy, it makes a big difference, it motivates us to be successful.
“We want to make the fans proud and happy.
“Of course, there will be some in the stadiums, we always have great support, but most will be at home and we just want to make them proud.”
