US trade deal sinks at talks

HOPES of a transatlantic trade deal are all but dead after Joe Biden and Rishi Sunak did not even discuss it in a meeting yesterday.

The Tory Government had promised to strike a post-Brexit agreement with the US by this year.

The PM and the President held talks for the first time at the G20 summit in Bali.

Mr Sunak said: “We did not discuss the trade deal in particular... but I’m filled with optimism about our ability to do more trade.”
