Only one way out of this mess

WE have been held back by 12 years of Tory government and nothing the Chancellor said changes that.

Covid and the war in Ukraine hit us hard. But problems began far earlier.

The economy has grown an average 1.4% under the Tories compared to 2.1% under Labour.

And it’s clear they have no plan to deliver growth, relying on working people to pick up the bill for their crashing of the economy.

Where was action on bankers’ bonuses? The clamp on non-doms? The closing of loopholes on private equity managers?

The only way out of this mess is to get the economy growing again, creating jobs in homegrown renewables powered by the talent and effort of millions of working people and thousands of businesses.

After yesterday’s shameful fiasco there can be only one conclusion: We can no longer afford the Tories.
