THE penny tossed before England’s 1966 World Cup final victory has sold for more than £11,000.

A private buyer paid five times its estimated price.

Sold by Graham Budd Auctions of London, it was from the collection of Bryan Horsnell. He acquired it from Swiss referee Gottfried Dienst.

The Distinguished Flying Cross and Bar given to commentator Kenneth Wolstenholme also sold for £11,160. He was an RAF pilot in the 1940s.
