Letby case doc: I made no mistake
A DOCTOR has denied being “out of his depth” and making a “serious mistake” in his care of a baby allegedly murdered by nurse Lucy Letby.
Dr David Harkness rejected claims he was “far too slow” in ordering an emergency blood transfusion for the boy at the Countess of Chester Hospital in 2015.
Child E was allegedly the fourth baby murdered by Letby in a six-week period.
The prosecution alleges Letby, 32, injected air into his bloodstream.
But her defence barrister, Ben Myers KC, suggested the baby died from “acute blood loss”.
Letby, of Hereford, denies murdering seven babies and the attempted murders of 10 others.
The trial continues.
