Get your C02 down, boy..
FEEDING your dog purely wet food could have the same carbon footprint as driving 30,000 miles a year in an average car.
A dry diet is responsible for around a seventh of the CO2 of a wet one. In wet diets, almost twice as much energy is provided by animal ingredients, which contributes to their greater environmental impact.
Dr Marcio Brunetto of Sao Paulo University, Brazil, said the study highlights the need to make pet food sustainable.
