Hang around online to bag a chandelier
THE UK’s biggest collection of chandeliers could fetch £250,000 at auction.
Hundreds of dazzling displays have lit up the showroom of Oberoi Brothers since 1974.
But after founder Dayal Oberoi died in June aged 83, the family-run store in Derby is to close for good.
The 140 items on sale include crystal chandeliers, lamps and furniture.
They will be auctioned online on November 25 by Hansons. Owner, Charles Hanson said: “Bidders could snap up a £9,000 chandelier for a fraction of its retail price.
“I hope to do justice to Mr Oberoi’s memory.”
Deven Oberoi, 55, who ran the firm with his dad, said: “He’d have wanted homes to be lit up with this prestigious collection.”
