Tiger kills his mate during love session
A ZOO tiger killed his mate with a single bite during the breeding session.
Male Amur tiger Miron was put with female Sinda, who died instantly from his sudden attack.
Keepers at Knowsley Safari were shocked as the pair had met before without problems.
A spokesman for the Merseyside attraction said that before the attack, the tigers displayed normal character traits, with no signs of aggression.
He added: “This introduction, like previous ones, was carefully managed by our expert animal team, taking into account each tiger’s behaviour. She will be greatly missed.”
Sinda, 14, had been at the park since 2010.
