MPs excused from daily TV appearances
RISHI Sunak has barred ministers from appearing on breakfast TV and radio shows each day.
The PM had allowed his frontbenchers to be grilled every weekday on shows such as GMB, co-hosted by Susanna Reid.
But it is understood No10 will now only provide a minister to be quizzed three mornings a week.
A Tory source said they would put MPs on air “when there is something relevant to talk about”.
They will also appear “when the public need to hear from government”.
It may spark claims Mr Sunak is fleeing scrutiny after a number of scandals involving his ministers.
Senior Tories boycotted some outlets in 2019 under ex-PM Boris Johnson.
