A Corbyn exit to set Labour free
Keir Starmer is under pressure to kick Jeremy Corbyn out of Labour altogether, and not just the parliamentary party.
That would save his blushes at PMQs when Rishi Sunak taunts him about supporting his former leader, now an independent MP.
There is talk of the old Leftie standing against Sadiq Khan for the London mayoralty in 2024, which would automatically mean expulsion.
He could do that, and he might even win, as Ken Livingstone did in 2000, against Labour’s Frank Dobson.
If that’s what he intends, Jezza should do everybody a favour, including himself, and resign now with some dignity.
It won’t stop the Tories baiting Starmer, but it would end a sorry chapter of Labour history.
