Amber’s cool pool record is breathtaking

- BY ROSS KANIUK

AN underwater swimming ace has smashed another world record.

Amber Fillary swam 104.8 metres on one breath beneath the surface at the open-air pool where she used to work as a lifeguard.

The previous record was 76.7m. Amber, 50, has yet to have her new record officially recognised.

It took her two minutes and 43 seconds at Tooting Bec Lido, South London.

She already holds Guinness world records for swimming under ice and walking underwater.

She said: “This is where my cold-water addiction started, as I experienced the amazing high you get from being in icy water.”

Amber now aims to beat her own record for the longest swim under ice on one breath – 90m.
