SEVEN IN SEVEN FOR KEVIN

- BY DAVE CRAVEN

THE biggest cheer at the Rugby League World Cup final came when Kevin Sinfield arrived to a hero’s welcome.

The ex-Leeds and England captain has raised more than £1.7million for motor neurone disease with his latest remarkable challenge. Sinfied (left) walked onto the Old Trafford pitch after completing seven ultra marathons in seven days, inspired by his ex-Rhinos team-mate Rob Burrow, diagnosed with MND in 2019.

At the interval of Australia’s win over Samoa, he told the crowd of 67,502 he “just wanted to be a great friend” by fundraising to find a cure.

In the earlier women’s final, defending champions Australia eased past New Zealand 54-4.
