CAN JONES BE EDDIE THE EAGLE?

EDDIE JONES has been lined up to revive flagging USA Rugby when he finishes his England job next year. Jones’s contract is up after next year’s World Cup and the Eagles are believed to have approached him to take them to the 2031 tournament, which will be in the states. USA need a boost after losing out on qualification to France 2023 to Portugal last week.

Jones (left) has also been linked with a role within the Australian set up and Georgia are also said to be in the market for the 62-year-old. England are thought to have talked to former All Black Scott Robertson, Ireland’s Ronan O’Gara and former lock Steve Borthwick, now at Leicester, about replacing Jones.
