SOUTTAR AIM TO STAKE PREM CLAIM
FORGOTTEN Australia defender Harry Souttar wants to use the World Cup to grab Premier League attention again.
Stoke centre-back Souttar, 24, only returned this month in the Championship after recovering from anterior cruciate ligament damage picked up on international duty a year ago.
Now Souttar, previously tipped for a £20million move, is poised to start for Australia against France. Aussie coach Graham Arnold said: “Harry reads the game exceptionally well and is in great shape.
“Just before he got injured there was talk about him going to Everton or a Premier League club for a huge amount of money.
“That didn’t happen but Harry has the mindset that these things happen for a reason in life.
“He also has a mindset of bouncing back and being ready for whatever is thrown in front of him. “Knowing these players, I know which ones are strong mentally and only have one vision which is going forward in life. Harry is definitely one of them.”
