Migrant site has emptied

THE Manston migrant processing centre, overcrowded earlier this month, is now empty.

Just days ago there were 4,000 people at the holding site in Kent, more than double its 1,600 capacity.

All are now in hotels, Home Office sources said.

Numbers spiked after a Dover centre was bombed.

More than 42,000 migrants have arrived in the UK so far this year after crossing the Channel, according to provisional government figures.

Amid bad weather, the Ministry of Defence has recorded no journeys in the past seven days.
