Starmer: We are proudly pro-business
THE Labour Party has been “turned inside out” to become pro-business, Keir Starmer has said.
But he called on firms to wean themselves off cheap overseas labour and invest in training British workers.
He told the CBI that due to the Tories’ economic chaos, some “good Labour things” he would like to do if he wins the next election would have to be ditched.
Setting out his party’s policy on Brexit, he said: “We are not going back to the EU and that means not going back to the customs union – but we need to make Brexit work.”
And backing the role of unions, he said: “My Labour Party is unashamedly pro-business...trade unions must be a crucial part of our partnership.”
