Red Arrows’ chief probed over ‘affair’
THE Red Arrows’ commander has been suspended over an alleged affair resulting in a team member getting pregnant.
Wing Cdr David Montenegro, known as Monty, is said to have been sent home from the team’s Middle East tour over his alleged relationship.
An RAF spokesman said: “The RAF is aware of historic allegations from 2017 that have been made against the current Officer Commanding the RAF Aerobatic Team (The Red Arrows), which will be thoroughly investigated.
“Pending that investigation and without prejudice, the individual has been removed from post.”
Mr Montenegro, who joined the RAF in 1999, had led the Red Arrows since April 2020.
