Farmer & son in replacement for C5 hit Our Yorkshire Farm
CHANNEL 5 is planting a new series to replace its uprooted massive hit Our Yorkshire Farm.
Next month farmer Clive Owen and eldest son Reuben, 18, are in Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: Reuben & Clive.
They travel from their remote Yorkshire Dales hill farm to launch a joint digging business, involving groundwork and plant hire.
It is from the same production company that made five series of Our Yorkshire Farm.
Millions of viewers since 2018 have seen Clive, 67, and wife Amanda, 48, known as the “sexy shepherdess”, raise their nine children.
It became the channel’s highest-rating factual show for its heart-warming and honest picture of family life in the country. But in June the couple announced their 22-year marriage was over.
In the new show, starting on December 6, viewers will see how Reuben’s unconventional childhood has prepared him for adult life during his first year in business away from Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale.
Channel 5 factual boss Daniel Pearl said: “We remain absolutely committed to the whole wonderful Owen family and hope to announce new projects with Amanda soon.”
The couple appeared on ITV’s The Dales in 2011 before landing their own show.
Since finding fame with her flock, 6ft 2in Amanda has published five bestselling books, appeared on a range of podcasts and farming shows, and become a regular guest on morning TV.
She said she has no regrets about letting the cameras into their lives.
She said: “We are just a normal family dealing with everything life throws at us and the programme is life as it’s happening, whether there’s someone filming it or not.”
This week Amanda and Clive were pictured together at the graduation of eldest daughter Raven, 21, in York.
