Lorraine’s ire at No10 axing daily grilling
LORRAINE Kelly has criticised Rishi Sunak for axing the daily appearances by government ministers on popular morning shows.
Until now, a frontbencher has been chosen by No10 each weekday to be grilled on programmes.
The Mirror revealed last week that it was ending.
The Tories will now only provide a minister to be interviewed on around three mornings a week.
Lorraine, 62, said: “I don’t think that’s right... you’ve got to be accountable.”
The breakfast TV legend added politicians being quizzed “are like robots”.
She said: “It is such a joy to meet a politician who is a person, like Ed Balls.
“I realise he’s not in politics now. His wife as well Yvette [Cooper], she’s like a real person.”
