TEAMMATES of Welsh star Neco Williams described him as brave and strong yesterday after he played in the World Cup just 24 hours after the death of his beloved grandad.

The 21-year-old defender received the tragic news before Wales’ opening 1-1 match against the USA on Monday. He dedicated the draw to his grandad, and in a tweet said he had gone from “crying all day to start in a World Cup”. Fulham winger Harry Wilson said: “Neco showed great courage.”
