48-hour post strike begins

A FRESH 48-hour strike by 115,000 postal workers is due to start today after talks ended with no deal.

Royal Mail said it had made a “best and final offer” to resolve the longrunning dispute over pay, jobs and conditions.

It said that included a 9% pay rise over 18 months and more generous voluntary redundancy terms.

But the CWU said the offer would “spell the end of Royal Mail as we know it” turning it into a “gig economy-style courier”.
