Bale backing OneLove in band battle

GARETH Bale made clear Wales backed the “OneLove” message yesterday after the row over wearing the rainbow captain’s armband.

The 33-year-old said: “We were not too happy about not being able to wear it with the sanctions put in place.

“People said that we [the captains] should have worn it but I would have been sent off after 25 minutes.

“Of course we support it but if we tried to do something else and the result did not go our way, we would be criticised.”

It came as Qatari officials pulled the plug on parties ahead of Wales’ crunch match with Iran by banning drinking before midday.
