Coke dealers pay for crimes

-

LUXURY cars with “Crime Pays” number plates are among £6million worth of assets seized from dealers who flooded the UK with cocaine.

The men were part of a gang which trafficked an estimated 50kg of cocaine from London and Essex to Wales.

Police confiscated assets including a yellow Lamborghini with a “Crime Pays” number plate and a Range Rover as well as luxury caravans and cash. Last year, Leon Ley, 34, Dale Martin, 28, and Daniel Harris, 40, were given nearly 40 years in jail time combined.

Swansea crown court heard last week the men were ordered to pay almost £268,000 in assets and cash so far.

Jo Williams, South Wales Police’s financial investigator, who secured the orders, said: “This result shows the fantastic work carried out by the Economic Crime Unit.”
