Booze jibe a non-runner

■ Reader Malcolm Lee’s comments about alcoholinduced bad behaviour at the races painted a picture I do not recognise (Your Voice, Nov 22). I’ve been to hundreds of meetings in the last 50 years and have never seen bad behaviour caused by alcohol or otherwise.

In my experience most people, especially at bigger meetings, are simply there to enjoy the races. If you walk through the bars it’s evident a minority are primarily there to drink but I’ve always found it to be good natured.
