Adele of a Monday for Vegas
When it comes to Vegas, it seems the House doesn’t always win.
Caesars Palace didn’t exactly roll the dice on Adele – it was always a safe bet her residency would be a huge money spinner. But, still, you’d think her reported $1million-a-night pay cheque (£831,000) might have also bought them a little loyalty.
Not so, according to reports. Because having finally started her long-postponed shows – 10 months after creative rows saw her cancel the original dates – the down-to-earth (cough, cough) superstar has apparently found a new way to bring fresh embarrassment to the Caesars Entertainment group.
Yes, she’s said to have publicly snubbed their offer of a fancy (but, pivotally, not their fanciest) suite in favour of a top-of-the-line $30,000a-night villa (£24,800) at The Wynn, part of a RIVAL hotel group.
That’s like being hired as the face of Marks & Spencer then openly shopping at Waitrose, or landing a part in ‘Enders and tweeting non-stop about Corrie.
Technically she wouldn’t be doing anything wrong...
...but it would still be a (humongous, supersized, she’s-lucky-the-mafia’sleft-town) slap in the face...
Or, more appropriately for a hotel inspired by Julius Caesar and co, a real stab in the back.
Beware the Ides of March? Beware the angry sides of divas-at-large, more like.
