I’D FIGHT AJ WHEN MY HAIR TURNS WHYTE

Dillian wants a trilogy scrap with Joshua... he’d even take him on WHEN HE’S 60

DILLIAN WHYTE claims he will still want to fight his old rival Anthony Joshua when he is 60.

Whyte is being lined up to fight Joshua if he comes through tonight’s clash with Jermaine Franklin at the OVO Arena Wembley.

The Body Snatcher beat Joshua while they were amateurs in 2009 before the two-time world heavyweight champ avenged that loss in a thrilling clash in 2015.

Whyte would love a deciding trilogy fight and says their rivalry is like Tyson

Fury’s with Deontay Wilder and said: “I’d fight Joshua tomorrow, for less money. Because we just have that thing, when we fight, sparks fly.

“It’s a fight that would make you run faster, make you diet. It’s a fight that would make me go to bed at seven o’clock every day.

“It’s like Wilder and Fury and they had their little thing and they were good fights, win, lose or draw.

“Me and Joshua are the same. We have fun beating each other up.

“I’d fight Joshua even when I’m 60. If we’re both 60 and they call us up and say ‘Let’s fight’ I’d come back to fight him! I hope we do fight again, but I don’t know where he is mentally.

“I don’t know how long he wants to fight, he’s achieved a lot, he’s made history. Who knows?”

Whyte claims a third clash with Joshua appeals more to him than even a shot at unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“Usyk is a great fighter, but he sucks from a personality point of view, he doesn’t really sell,” he told DAZN.

“Now he’s getting a lot of kudos because he’s beaten Joshua. Even though Joshua lost to him, he’s technically still a bigger draw than him, so it just makes sense for me to chase that.” Whyte makes his comeback against unbeaten American Franklin, who is 21-0, following his loss to WBC heavyweight Fury in April when he finally got his world title chance.

He knows a third defeat in four fights at this stage of his career could be fatal for his world-title hopes, but says he is used to the pressure.

Franklin will be his first fight under new trainer Buddy McGirt and he has vowed to answer the “hyenas” who think he’s finished.

“Yeah, it’s must-win, but that’s been my whole career,” he said. “When have I had a fight when it wasn’t must win? When? So what’s new?

“I’m a wounded lion at the minute and all these guys are jumping in like hyenas yapping and yapping.

“What they forget is that I may be wounded, but I’m alive and I’m still a predator.

“A lot of Americans come here and talk s**t, saying they’re going to do this and that. I love it when people underestimate me.

“I haven’t brought some rage to the ring for a long time and it’s time to bring some rage back to the ring.”

DILLIAN WHYTE v Jermaine Franklin is live on DAZN from 7pm.
