IF ONLY WE HAD MORE ERIKSENS ...AND COULD BORROW HAALAND

-

FROM JOHN CROSS in Doha KASPER HJULMAND joked he would like to borrow Erling Haaland and clone Christian Eriksen.

The Danes were held to a goalless draw in their opener with Tunisia and now face a daunting task against France.

But Norway boss Stale Solbakken claimed previously that Denmark would win the World Cup if they had Manchester City striker Haaland in their line-up.

And Denmark coach Hjulmand admitted he wouldn’t mind sneaking him into his squad.

“Erling has not gone to the World Cup with Norway so maybe we could borrow him!” said the Danish boss (left). “No, no, no. I’m joking, of course. He’s a wonderful player, it’s been wonderful to see how he’s grown, how amazing to see how he’s developed.”

With Haaland unavailable, Hjulmand admitted he wouldn’t mind having a few more versions on Eriksen (below) to call upon.

“Christian is the heart of our team. He understands the game, short and long passes, the intensity of the match and is always available to receive the ball,” he said.

“I would like to clone him. I would like him early in the game but also in the box because he has a wonderful shot. “And off the pitch he is a wonderful guy, a very relaxed and social guy.”
