FIFA ARE PACKING FANS IN

-

FIFA says World Cup attendance figures stood at 94 percent after the first round of group matches. The highest attendance of 88,103 came at Lusail Stadium where fans (above) celebrated Brazil’s 2-0 win over Serbia. Numerous empty seats have been obvious at several matches – although there have been problems with the ticketing app needed to gain entry to the stadiums.

Tickets remain available and FIFA said overall sales have passed the three million mark.

Eyebrows were raised earlier this week when attendances given for games appeared to be higher than the capacities of the stadiums.

But it was later claimed that the grounds were able to hold more fans than had been originally stated.
