Tories head for a big loss

■ Rishi Sunak and Jeremy Hunt haven’t done anything about the non-dom tax loophole and private schools’ charitable status while the rest of us freeze and starve.

Boris did the smart thing by ducking out while he had the chance. No prime minister wants to lose an election, let alone be head of the last Tory government in living memory. By the time these two muppets have finished the Conservatives will have fewer MPs than the Lib Dems and will be out of office longer than Labour under Kinnock and Foot.

■ When will football learn lessons from things that work in other sports, particularly rugby? Here, when a player has sustained a possible head injury, they have an assessment and if they pass they return. If not, the replacement stays on. With five substitutes in World Cup football this should not be a problem.

■ Sunak limiting ministers to interviews three days a week and a maximum air time of eight minutes is no big deal. When they’re on every day now for longer they never answer a single question but just trot out the same scripted drivel time after time.
