Somewhere to go on your bucket list

- Compiled by Nigel Wiskar

The little town of Bala sits on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, surrounded by mountains, rivers, valleys and forests.

It’s also the home of the bucket hat that’s as synonomous with the Welsh team as Gareth Bale.

Spirit of ‘58 is the shop at 102 High Street run by Tim Williams who’s the man behind the craze.

Other similar hats are available elsewhere but Tim designed the original which has adorned the noggins of supporters from Wrexham to Azerbaijan.

You can pick one up for £18.

Oh to be peering over the croissants at the breakfast buffet at the five-star Fairmont Hotel on the seafront in Doha’s Lusail district.

Ex Chelsea and England mates John Terry and Wayne Bridge are reported to be both staying there in different TV and FIFA roles.

The pair famously fell out when it was alleged Terry had been in a relationship with Bridge’s partner Vanessa Perroncel back in 2009, something she later denied.

The hotel is booked out for VIPs for the duration of the tournament but regularly costs £900 a room.
