MP perks an extra insult
■ I had a small operation last week. Right from the receptionist to the nurses and then surgeon, the treatment was first rate and nothing was too much trouble.
I believe a nurse’s salary starts at around £27,000 a year compared with an MP’s salary of more than £84,000, plus second home allowance, expenses and subsidised food and drink.
No wonder the nurses and many others are striking. Brian Maddocks
