FA CHIEF: MAGIC OF CUP ALIVE
FA BOSS Mark Bullingham believes the World Cup still has a “magic” feel – despite the controversies.
Bullingham (above) revealed that he has been out and about to meet England fans who have travelled to the Middle East, and says they are enjoying it.
Football Association chief executive Bullingham was locked in a row with FIFA over the One Love armband, but says the tournament overall has gone well.
He told beIN Sports: “It’s a unique tournament, obviously, with the time of year.
“But the most unique thing is that having the tournament in one city means all the fans from all the countries are all together in a melting pot in Doha, and the feedback has been that they’re really enjoying that.
“And the opportunity to see multiple games, as well. We heard yesterday that one fan is trying to go to all 64 games, which will be an amazing achievement if he manages to pull it off.
“But it’s unique for fans to have the opportunity to go to multiple games.
“I haven’t managed to make too many games so far, hoping to get to a few more, but the magic of the World Cup is clear to everyone.
“Some of the games have had unexpected results, but just some fantastic football being played.”
