BALE: WE WILL FIGHT FOR OUR LIVES

- FROM JAMES NURSEY in Doha

GARETH BALE has issued a rallying cry after revealing defeat by Iran left Wales “heartbroken”.

Bale is set to be handed a last hurrah in a Wales shirt tonight together with Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen – knowing they need to beat England to reach the last 16.

He said: “We will give everything on the pitch

against England. We will fight again. The main thing for us all is that we have stuck together as a group. We don’t get divided by a bad team performance or result.”

Wales are on a plane home if they can’t pocket all three points after losing 2-0 to Iran and drawing their opener 1-1 against USA when big striker Kieffer Moore (right) came on and made a difference.

Skipper and record scorer Bale believes it is imperative Rob Page’s squad do not become “divided” by their failings.

He added: “You saw our reaction when we conceded against Iran, how devastated we all were, lying on the floor – heartbroken.

“After the game everybody was upset. But no one can ever question our commitment. We will all stick together through thick and thin, through the ups and downs.

“We have been working hard the last few days in training which has been good. We just have to go out there and give everything.”

Bale won and converted a late penalty against USA for his 41st international goal to salvage a draw – but his performances in Qatar have been criticised.

He said: “Sometimes I have a good game, sometimes I don’t. It’s football, it’s difficult to always play well. The one thing I always do is give 100 percent.

“I will give everything, like I always do for my country. I was flying into tackles in the 95th minute the other day against Iran.

“I will just try to lead by example and hopefully that’s enough on the day. That is all I can do.”
