Spare us from deluded Truss

- FIONA PARKER Keith Fulford, via Facebook

MY daughter was about to complete on her new house when Liz Truss’s catastrophic economic fiasco happened and the first-time buyers in their chain couldn’t afford the hike in their mortgage.

Suddenly, five innocent households were devastated, and Truss was part of the cause.

Many millions of people have been affected financially because of her ineptitude, but she accepts no responsibility. The usual excuses are wheeled out, blaming everything and everyone else.

Never mind a comeback, this woman needs to be consigned to the failure dustbin and forgotten. John Sedgwick, Tamworth, Staffs

Liz Truss needs to shut up and go away rather than blame everyone else for the failure of her crackpot ideas.

She is deluded if she believes the hard-faced financial markets that reacted so badly to her unfunded giveaways to the rich are part of a left-wing conspiracy. Never forget that no matter how much they try to distance themselves from it, it was the Tories that elected Truss, cost the country billions, sent interest rates rocketing and weakened the economy. Many Tories still think her mad theories are right – that’s why we can’t afford to let them run the country.

I can’t believe the double standards of the Tories. When Liz Truss set about bankrupting the economy with her disastrous mini-Budget many of her colleagues

applauded. People lost their homes, but has she apologised? Now she is claiming it’s down to the “left-wing economic establishment”.

The Tories and their coalition lackies the Lib Dems blamed Gordon Brown for the global financial crash, but it was caused by the same bankers loopy Liz Truss wanted to give tax breaks to.

I agree with every word Kevin Maguire wrote in his column on Monday. When we have egotistical Boris Johnson flying around the world thinking he is still PM, and shameless Liz Truss blaming everybody else but herself for her failure, is it any wonder Britain is a laughing stock on the world stage?

They trashed the economy and left our international reputation in tatters. That they believe they are still relevant shows how deluded they are and how weak Sunak is.

Liz Truss tanked the economy which added to the sky-high inflation, with wages not keeping up. Sunak and his ministers say

they can’t afford to give workers an adequate pay rise but firms are maintaining high profits by putting up prices and no one is telling them to show restraint.

As usual, normal working people are the ones having to pay the price while the culprits make excuses.

Come on, MPs, start standing up for the people who voted for you.

Barry Foster Wigan, Gtr Manchester

Liz Truss believes had she been given time, her plans would have worked. Has she no shame?

Instead of blaming some made up idea of a “left-wing establishment”, she should apologise to the millions of families whose finances have been decimated.

When you give someone the keys to the car and they crash it pulling it out of the garage, you might wonder if driving is their strongest skill.

The damage Ms Truss inflicted on millions of UK citizens is unforgivable. Personally, I wouldn’t let her manage a biscuit tin.
